Where and when is PodCon?

Location: Washington State Convention Center, Seattle, WA.
Dates: January 19-20, 2019
Hours: approx. 9am-7pm each day

Do I have to buy a ticket for each day?

Nope! One ticket will get you in for the whole weekend. Day passes are not available.

How old do you have to be to attend?

There are no age restrictions to attend PodCon. If you are under 18 and your parents are okay with you going, then so are we! If you are under the age of 13, we require that you have a ticketed adult with you. Children age 8 & under are free.

Do kids get in free?

We don’t offer any discounts for parents or chaperones. You are more than welcome to hang out in the WSCC lobby; we just can’t let you into the expo hall, sessions or variety shows unless you have registered for PodCon. If your child is under the age of 13, you are required to have a ticket as they cannot be at PodCon alone. (Note: this does not apply to those with a disability who require assistance from a caregiver per ADA regulations.)

Do you offer chaperone tickets?

Unfortunately, we are not able to offer discounts for students or other groups registering for the event. There is only one type of pass available for PodCon (unless you got a special perk during the crowdfunding campaign).

Are there group/student rates?

Once you’ve purchased your ticket for PodCon, you can book a discounted hotel room at the Sheraton Seattle, located across the street from the Washington State Convention Center. Please make sure to book before December 17, 2018 to get the group discount. 

What are hotel/travel options there?

If you’re going to be 18 years or older by January 18, 2019, then yes!  Check out the volunteer application for more information.

Do you need volunteers?

Once your purchase goes through, you will receive two or more emails. One email will be your Order Confirmation, and the other emails will be your Ticket Confirmations.

In your Order Confirmation, you will see an alphanumeric that begins with RD followed by a combination of lowercase letters and numbers. This RD code signifies your entire order, including merchandise. If you purchased more than one ticket, they will all live under that RD code.

Additionally, you will receive Ticket Confirmation emails for each individual ticket you purchase. Your ticket number will start with a TK and be followed by a series of lowercase letters and numbers. This ticket confirmation email will go directly to the email you associated with each ticket, which in some cases is different than the email you entered for your order.

If you bought your ticket during the IndieGoGo campaign, don’t fret! We will email you the info you need to know after the campaign is over. If you still have questions, email info [at] podcon.com.

What is the difference between my Order Confirmation and my Ticket Confirmation?

Please bring a printout of each Ticket Confirmation to registration along with a photo ID, and you’ll be able to check in quickly and easily! Your Ticket Confirmation Number starts with TK, so as long as you see that in the email you bring you should be good to go!

The PodCon Registration Desks are located in the Atrium Lobby on Level 4 of the Washington State Convention Center.

How do I check in when I get there?

If you need to cancel or modify your registration, you will be able to do so any time before December 30 at 11:59 pm PT. You will receive a full refund with the exception of a $10 processing fee per ticket.

At the bottom of your Order Confirmation email, you will see a link to view/modify your order. Once you click that link you will be able to cancel your entire order including tickets and merchandise. From that page, you can also cancel individual tickets. Individual tickets may also be canceled via the link at the bottom of your Ticket Confirmation Email.

If your credit card or bank information has changed since you purchased your ticket, please contact your credit card company or bank prior to processing your refund. They should be able to make sure those funds get returned to you properly.

How do I cancel a ticket?

If you need to cancel or modify merchandise, it must be done before November 22, at 11:59 pm PT. At that point, you will no longer be able to purchase or refund merchandise. Additionally, if you forget to pick up your merchandise we will not be able to refund or ship it to you, so make sure you remember to pick it up!

How do I cancel merchandise?

Maybe! Keep in mind that some of our Featured Guests have not been announced yet or that podcaster may be planning to attend PodCon on their own. Anyone and everyone is more than welcome to attend!

Do you have a code of conduct?

The Washington State Convention Center is is ADA accessible and programming will be accessible via wheelchair. If you’d like to learn more about accessibility with the Washington State Convention Center, please email info [at] podcon.com.

What assistance is provided for attendees with disabilities?

Very no! We’ll have content for people who make podcasts, but the majority of stuff at PodCon is for fans of podcasts (which, of course, includes everyone who makes podcasts.) Many panel discussions will be interesting to all audiences, and all of our main-stage content will be.

Do I have to have a podcast to attend?

We know a bunch of you are SUPER stoked to get in the Zone, or just generally celebrate your love of your favorite characters with cosplay! We welcome this type of celebration, but want to ensure the safety and comfort of all attendees.

Weapons are not permitted at PodCon. If a prop or element of your costume may fall into a gray area here, we encourage you to have your cosplay prop checked and approved by bringing it to the Info Desk adjacent to PodCon registration. We will check it and mark it with a wristband that will be valid for the entire weekend. If a prop is not approved, it will need to be stored offsite. PodCon will not store any items. Can I cosplay at PodCon?


Will there be All Gender bathrooms?

We’ve got a $40 “Remote Attendance” option just for you! We will not be able to stream PodCon live, but “Remote Attendance” customers will get access to all of the recorded PodCon programming a few weeks after the event. It will be delivered via a password-protected podcast link.

How can I sponsor PodCon?

Priority seating is a perk sold on the Indiegogo campaign. Before a mainstage panel or event begins, a priority seating area will be set aside. These seats are not assigned, and there is a chance that they will all fill. They will have a better than average view of the stage, and they will be fairly numerous. Ten minutes before the content is scheduled to begin, these sections will be opened to all attendees, so your seat is only saved if you show up before the piece of programming begins, not forever.
